Swiss Steak (cooked in an electric skillet)

: Recipe from book included with a West Bend electric skillet that received as a wedding shower gift in 1974.
Ingredients:
2 pounds round or chuck steak (1 inch thick) ¼ cup flour 1 teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon pepper 2 Tablespoons oil 4 ounce mushrooms (canned or fresh sliced) 1 medium onion (finely chopped) ½ green pepper (finely chopped) 1 cup tomato wedges (fresh or canned) If canned include the juice
Instructions:
Preheat skillet to 325º. Combine flour with salt and pepper and rub on meat. Add oil to pan and brown meat on both sides. Add remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to 225º. Cover and cook for 1 ½ to 2 hours.
